Deleting your data

Everything MyWing remembers lives on your phone, so you can erase it yourself, completely, in a few taps. None of your memories are on our servers.

Delete everything in the app

  1. Open MyWing and tap your monogram at the top right of Today to open Settings.
  2. Go to Your data. If you’d like a copy first, tap Export everything.
  3. Tap Delete everything and type DELETE to confirm.

This erases every memory, person, photo, plan and setting MyWing holds on your phone and cancels every scheduled reminder. It can’t be undone. MyWing keeps only your 18+ confirmation, so it doesn’t need to ask again.

Uninstalling MyWing also deletes its data from your phone. A copy may remain in a system backup you made of your phone (for example an iPhone backup), which you control through your Apple or Google account.

What’s on our servers

None of what you tell MyWing. This version has no account and never uploads your memories, photos or plans, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete. Link previews are fetched straight from your phone, and reminders are scheduled on your phone. The only thing that can leave your phone is an optional crash report, and only if you turn that on (below).

If an optional backup & sync feature is ever added, it will be opt-in, and this page will explain how to delete that copy before the feature ships.

Crash reports

Crash reports are off unless you turn on Send crash reports in Settings → Privacy. If you did, they’re held by Google (Firebase Crashlytics) for us, contain technical details only — never your memories — and are deleted automatically after 90 days. Turn the setting off to stop sending them. To have earlier reports from your installation deleted sooner, email us (below).

Instagram DM data (planned)

Status

Sending things to MyWing by Instagram DM is not switched on. Today we receive and store nothing through Instagram.

When Instagram DM capture launches, messages you send to @mywing.app (and your Instagram-scoped user ID) will be received so they can be saved to your MyWing. You will be able to have all of it deleted by emailing us (below). Before the feature launches, this page will be updated with any additional way to delete it from inside the app.

Request deletion by email

For crash reports, for any data connected to Instagram, or if anything on this page doesn’t cover your situation, email privacy@mywing.app with the subject “Data deletion request”. Include your Instagram username if the request is about Instagram messages.

We’ll confirm we received it, delete what we hold within 30 days, and reply to confirm when it’s done.
